A New Unendowed Fund Will Benefit the Keweenaw Support 4 Health Minds

The Keweenaw Community Foundation announces the creation of a new unendowed fund to benefit Keweenaw Support 4 Healthy Minds. KS4HM works in the local area dedicated to talking about mental health, building resiliency in the community, and supports at–risk individuals. Throughout the year the group meets monthly at the Portage Lake District Library inviting the community to join and learn about mental health strategies and resources.

Keweenaw Support 4 Healthy Minds and the Keweenaw Community Foundation have worked together to put on the first youth mental health fair, says KCF executive Director Robin Meneguzzo, adding that the foundation is grateful for the group’s work with local youth.

With additional funding to support the Health Minds group, organizers hope to increase their presence in the community through awareness events and programs. KD4HM volunteer Michelle Morgan says that the additional funds will greatly support the group’s mission to increase awareness of mental health issues and resources in the community.
