High School

Three Upper Peninsula teams will play in the girls basketball tournament quarterfinals tonight…
• In Division Four, Ishpeming will face Saint Ignace at Gladstone High School.
• In Division Two, Negaunee will take on Flint Powers Catholic at Sault Ste. Marie.

College Hockey

Two Michigan Tech hockey players have earned Central Collegiate Hockey Association honors. Logan Pietila was named Forward of the Week, and Max Koskipirtti Rookie of the Week. Pieti scored the tying and winning goals in the Huskies’ victory over Minnesota State in the CCHA tournament semifinals Saturday. Koskipirtti logged two assists in the game.

Tech will play at Bemidji State in the CCHA championship game Friday evening.

NHL

The Red Wings visit the Capitals this evening. Coverage will begin at 6:45 on 99.3 The Lift.

NBA

The Pistons went cold in the middle of the game, and fell 119-94 to the Celtics last night. Detroit scored just 38 points in the second and third quarters. Jaden Ivey netted 21. The Pistons played without Cade Cunningham, who was held out to give his aching left knee a rest. Simone Fontecchio and Ausar Thompson also missed the contest.

The Pistons host the Pacers tomorrow, with coverage at 6:35 on 99.3 The Lift.

After Detroit lost to the Heat on a late three-pointer Sunday, Pistons guard Evan Fournier was so frustrated that he kicked the ball into the stands. That kick has cost him $25,000, in a fine levied by the NBA yesterday.

MLB Spring Training

The Tigers had yesterday off, and face the Phillies today. Jack Flaherty will start.

The Brewers shaded the Angels 4-3 yesterday. Christian Yelich and Willy Adames homered.

The Brewers take on a Guardians split squad this afternoon. Colin Rea will start.

NFL

The Detroit Lions have signed former Ravens guard Kevin Zeitler to a one-year contract. Zeitler made the Pro Bowl last season. He’ll replace Jonah Jackson, who signed with the Rams.
