Hancock Trails Club Cancels Snowduro, Looks Ahead to Summer Trails

The Hancock Trails Club will cancel the Snowduro bike ride this Saturday. Given the recent warm-up in temperatures and early spring thaw, the Hancock Trails club will not run the snow bike enduro event this weekend. The trail’s club has expressed that it will shift its focus from maintaining winter trail conditions and transition to the spring’s summer preparations.

Part of the club’s plans will give the trials some much-needed time to dry out from the spring thaw. During this time the Hancock Trails Club asks residents and visitors to avoid the Maasto Hiihto trails until notified that conditions have improved enough for significant trail traffic. The Hancock Trails Club will post signage along the trail to remind visitors how significant traffic during the spring freeze-thaw cycle can damage trails for future use.

Those with questions about future trail events, and volunteering opportunities, or who want to learn more about the Hancock Trails Club can find more information here.
