High School

Houghton has been seeded first in the semifinals of the Division Three state hockey tournament, and will face fourth-seed Cranbrook Kingswood Friday morning at 11:00 at the USA Hockey Arena in Plymouth. Coverage will begin at 10:30 on the Voice of the Gremlins, 97.7 The Wolf. Traverse City St. Francis and East Grand Rapids will play in the other semifinal.

The girls high school basketball tournament opens tonight.
• In Division Two, Houghton entertains Kingsford at 6:00. Coverage will begin at 5:40 on the Voice of the Gremlins, 97.7 The Wolf.
• In Division Three, Iron Mountain hosts West Iron County. The winner will face Calumet Wednesday. If Iron Mountain wins tonight, they will host Wednesday’s contest. If West Iron wins, the game will be played at Calumet.
• In Division Four, District 98 – Jeffers plays at Dollar Bay-Tamarack City at 6:00.
• In Division Four, District 99 – L’Anse plays at North Dickinson at 6:00.
• In Division Four, District 97 – at Ironwood – Wakefield-Marenisco faces Bessemer; Ontonagon takes on Watersmeet.

NBA

The Pistons dropped a 113-91 decision to the Magic last night. Evan Fournier came off the bench to lead Detroit with 17 points.

MLB

Andy Ibáñez hit his third home run of the spring, as the Tigers downed the Yankees 7-2 yesterday. Matt Manning gave up a solo home run and struck out four over three innings.

The Tigers will face the Red Sox this afternoon. Tarik Skubal will start for Detroit. Coverage will begin at 1:00 on 99.3 The Lift.

The Brewers outslugged the Diamondbacks 10-4 yesterday. Willy Adames and Jeferson Quero homered. Freddy Peralta gave up three runs on five hits over three innings.

The Brewers have today off, and will face the Giants tomorrow afternoon. Jakob Junis will start.
