Copper Island Academy Invites Community to Laskiainen Day Festivities

The Copper Island Academy invites the community to join the charter school at its annual Laskiainen Day festivities on campus. Copper Island Academy keeps a strong Finnish theme using the Finnish education model as the basis for the school’s education system. Laskiainen Day today is celebrated in Finland as a Sliding day, or Finland’s version of Fat Tuesday and Mardi Gras traditions that can be found around the world before Lent.

Today attendees can join the school for carboard sledding with Mrs Sayen’s stem class. Check out student Finnish artwork, do some kick sledding, participate in a 3 3 hockey challenge, learn about dogsledding, and much more. The event will begin at noon today until 3 pm. Copper Island Academy is located at 52125 Industrial Drive near the airport.
