Students Build Relationships While Building a Snow Chapel

While students last night finalized their statute entries. Some students at St. Albert the Great University Parish have been hard at work in the last two weeks working to construct a chapel made of snow. Our Lady of the Snows Ice Chapel has become a fun tradition for catholic students on campus. Over the years has drawn many residents, parish members, and on-lookers to join together in mass.

“I think there’s like a really big camaraderie and it’s very, it does feel like a super, super great community that builds the ice chapel. And then there’s always food and there’s always homemade chai. I think there’s something to getting super worn out playing in the snow and then coming inside and having a hot drink that makes everyone feel like little kids in the best way.” – Allison Hadjis, Director of Communications, St Albert the Great University Parish

Our Lady of the Snows Ice Chapel holds multiple services at the end of the winter carnival. One of the most popular will take place tomorrow night when St al’s holds its candlelight service. With the bouncing flames dancing off the walls, it’s a sight that perish leaders say has to be experienced.
