In recent weeks county and municipal clerks across Michigan are preparing for the state’s upcoming presidential primary election on February 27th. With the upcoming elections, clerks are also preparing for residents to vote absentee following the passage of Proposal 2 in the state in 2022. To help residents understand the new absentee voting process the League of Women Voters in the Copper Country will host an information session tonight. LWVCC’s first Vice President, Trayn Mason will lead the presentation. Sharing information about how the proposal’s legislation has improved voting rights in Michigan. Those interested in attending the session tonight can meet with the League of Women Voters at the Portage Lake District Library in Houghton. The presentation will begin at 6:30 pm. Those unable to attend in person, but still want to hear from the LWVCC can join virtually through a Zoom link.
