Michigan has the 3rd highest insurance premium penalties for high risk drivers in the nation.
That’s according to the personal finance website WalletHub which compared car insurance quotes in each of the 50 states and Washington, D.C. for hypothetical consumers who had identical demographics but a range of driving histories.
The report highlights the states where bad drivers pay the biggest insurance premium penalty for their bad habits, and where they pay the least penalty.
Louisiana ranks number one overall followed by California.
According to the report, Michigan has the highest annual premium increases for drivers with 2 accidents in 2 years and is 7th for reckless driving.
