Jibba Jabba’s 2nd Year Back to Houghton Returns in February

Last year the event returned after a decade-long hiatus. And once again Jibba Jabba will return to carve up the streets of Houghton. Jibba Jabba’s snowboard event will invite professional riders to take a ride to Huron Street to show off high-flying tricks, and freestyle creativity. Last year was so much fun for RedBull as an event sponsor that the energy drink company plans to also return.

The return of Jibba Jabba in 2023 was thanks in large part to Jen and Dustin Reed, who are both snow sports enthusiasts. Dustin even designs the course that the snowboarders will ride during the event. Spectators are encouraged to get up close with the course for the best seats. Or to stop by on the Friday before to check out the course under construction by the city of Houghton Public Works department and Dustin Reed.

Lakeshore Drive will close during the event. Helmets are mandatory for riders and police and medical personnel will be on scene in the case of an emergency. Jibba Jabba returns to Huron Street in Houghton on February 17th.
