Northern Michigan University announced last Friday it has named a new provost and vice president. Anne Dahlman has been named the new Provost and Vice president for academic affairs, taking on her role beginning April 1st. Dahlman comes to Northern Michigan with 27 years of experience as a teacher, faculty scholar, and administrator. The Finnish native most recently served as interim associate provost with Minnesota State University Mankato, where she also served in various other leadership positions over the past 17 years. Her first master’s degree was earned from the University of Joensuu in Finland. She earned her second master’s degree from Colorado State University and her doctoral degree from the University of Minnesota in 2005. As the interim Associate Provost with Minnesota State University, Dahlman was responsible for the university’s 112 million dollar strategic resource management budget.
