After playing just one game for Detroit, the Wings have sent defenseman Simon Edvinsson back to Grand Rapids. Center Austin Czarnik has also been sent down to the Griffins.
NBA
The Pistons will try to break their epic 26-game losing streak tomorrow against the Nets, with coverage at 6:35 on 99.3 The Lift.
NFL
The Lions clinched their first division title since 1993 by holding off the Vikings 30-24. Minnesota quarterback Nate Mullins shredded the Detroit secondary for 411 yards, but also tossed four interceptions, including one by Ifeatu Melifonwu in the closing seconds that ended a potential game-winning drive. Jahmyr Gibbs rushed for two touchdowns.
The Packers hung on for a 33-30 victory over the Panthers. After Carolina scored two late touchdowns to tie the game, Anders Carlson booted a 32-yard field goal with 19 seconds remaining to win it. Jordan Love threw two touchdown passes.
In last night’s contest, the Patriots stunned the Broncos 26-23.
