Police and Fire Respond to Fatal Fire in Houghton

Houghton police and fire respond to a fatal fire that occurred last night on Dodge Street. At 1:45 am police and fire response was called to the scene of a fire at 923 Dodge Street in Houghton. The fire department was able to draw water from a nearby hydrant, and quickly put out the blaze. Upon further investigation, police discovered the body of a deceased male inside the structure. No name has been released at this time until the closest family member is notified. The Michigan State Fire Marshall was called out to begin their investigation into the cause of the fire.
