College Volleyball

Ferris State defeated Grand Valley 3-1 in the title match of the Great Lakes Intercollegiate Athletic Conference volleyball tournament yesterday. Tech’s Kaycee Meiners was named to the all-tournament team.

College Basketball

The Tech women’s basketball team lost to top-ranked Ashland 74-67 yesterday. Isabella Lenz led the Huskies with 19 points.

NHL

The Red Wings host the Devils Wednesday. Coverage will begin at 6:45 on 99.3 The Lift.

NBA

The Pistons’ losing streak reached 11 games yesterday, as they fell to the Raptors 142-113. Stanley Umude came off the bench to lead Detroit with 19 points. Cade Cunningham added 18.

The Pistons entertain the Nuggets tonight.

NFL

The Lions overcame a 12-point deficit with two touchdowns in the final three minutes, and defeated the Bears 31-26 yesterday. Jared Goff struggled through much of the game, tossing three interceptions. He rallied the team, however, and hit Jameson Williams with a 32-yard touchdown pass with three minutes to go. He then engineered a quick drive that led to a one-yard David Montgomery score with 29 seconds remaining. A safety in the closing minutes tacked on the final two points. Detroit improves to 8-2 – the first time they’ve reached that mark since 1962.

Jordan Love threw two touchdown passes, as the Packers held off the Chargers 23-20 yesterday. Love’s 24-yard strike to Romeo Doubs with two-and-a-half minutes remaining was the game-winner. Green Bay running backs Aaron Jones and Emanuel Wilson were both carted off the field in the second quarter, They’ll be evaluated today.

In last night’s contest, the Broncos edged the Vikings 21-20. Russell Wilson’s 15-yard scoring pass to Courtland Sutton with 63 seconds remaining was the game-winner.

Tonight, the Chiefs welcome the Eagles. Coverage will begin at 7:30 on 99.3 The Lift.
