Hancock Public School may hire a district superintendent this evening. Tonight the district will consider an internal candidate for the position, with an interview with the school board. Back in August, Superintendent Steve Patchin notified the district of plans to retire. At around the same time, three school board members also resigned. The HPS school board then added Emilie Lancour, Charlie Klien, and Taylor Paul to the board. Since filling the board vacancies, Hancock Public School began preparing for its search for a new superintendent with the help of the Michigan Association of School Boards. Last week the board reviewed a superintendent survey, as well as formulated questions for tonight’s interview. The Hancock public school superintendent interview with Chris Salani will begin at 6 pm, find more details here.
