High School

High school volleyball tournament district titles will be decided tonight.
• In Division Three, Calumet will entertain Hancock at 6:00. Coverage will begin at 5:40 on the Voice of the Copper Kings, KBear 102.3.
• In Division Four, Lake Linden-Hubbell will host Baraga at 6:00.

Lake Linden-Hubbell hosts North Central in an Eight Player Division Two football regional final tomorrow at 1:30.

College Soccer

The Michigan Tech soccer squad fell 1-0 at 11th-ranked Northern Michigan yesterday. The victory sealed the Great Lakes Intercollegiate Athletic Association championship for the Wildcats. Northern earned the top seed in the upcoming playoffs, and will host Purdue Northwest Monday at 3:00. The Huskies are seeded third, and will entertain Parkside Monday at noon.

College Hockey

The Michigan Tech hockey team will try to get its first win of the season when they host Augustana tonight at 7:07 and tomorrow at 6:07. Playing in their inaugural season, the Vikings swept Bowling Green two weeks ago, stunned second-ranked Denver with an overtime shootout win last Friday, and defeated Colorado College last Saturday.

The Northern hockey team skates at Saint Thomas tonight and tomorrow.

College Football

The Michigan Tech football team welcomes Minot State tomorrow at 1:00.

The Northern football team plays at Saginaw Valley State tomorrow.

College Volleyball

The Michigan Tech volleyball team entertains Wayne State tonight at 5:00, and Saginaw Valley State tomorrow at 3:00.

The Northern volleyball team hosts Saginaw Valley State tonight, and Wayne State tomorrow.

College Basketball

The NMU men’s basketball team opens its season this weekend in Texas at the Lubbock Tip-Off Classic. The Wildcats will face Southeastern Oklahoma State tomorrow afternoon, and Lubbock Christian Sunday night.

The Michigan Tech women’s basketball team will face Wisconsin-Stevens Point in an exhibition match tomorrow at Wisconsin Dells.

NHL

The Red Wings lost 2-0 to the Panthers last night. James Reimer stopped 25 of 26 shots he faced, with Florida’s final goal a late empty-netter.

The Wings will host the Bruins tomorrow, with coverage at 6:45 on 99.3 The Lift.

NBA

The Pistons fell 125-116 to the Pelicans last night. Cade Cunningham had 22 points and 11 assists.

The Pistons will entertain the Suns Sunday afternoon.

NFL

In last night’s NFL game, the Steelers outscored the Titans 20-16. 

The Lions have this weekend off.

The Packers host the Rams in a 1:00 game Sunday.

The Bengals will welcome the Bills in the Sunday night game, with coverage on 99.3 The Lift.

MLB

The Brewers have re-signed one of their own free agents. Pitcher Colin Rea agreed to a one-year contract, with a team option for a second year. Milwaukee declined to exercise their contract options on two former Tigers pitchers, Andrew Chafin and Justin Wilson. Chafin struggled after being obtained from the Diamondbacks mid-season, and Wilson missed the entire season with injuries.
