A Hancock College Student Earns a Scholarship from the Coast Guard Foundation

A college student at the University of Michigan, hailing from Hancock, has earned a scholarship from the Coast Guard Foundation. Aubrey Swain, of Hancock, is one of 187 students in the country receiving a scholarship award from the non-profit foundation for 2023. Swain attends college at the University of Michigan and is the daughter of retired Coast Guard veteran, Jason D. Swain. Her scholarship award makes up a portion of the Coast Guard Foundation’s more than 650,000 dollars worth of funding supporting students and families of the Coast Guard community. Since 1990 the Coast Guard Foundation has awarded more than 3.9 million dollars in scholarship awards.
