Wayne D. Goulette, 77, a resident of Hancock, passed away Tuesday, September 26, 2023, at his home following a lengthy illness.
He was born on June 13, 1946, in Laurium, a son of the late Joseph and Rose (Huard) Goulette. Wayne was raised in Laurium and was a graduate of the Houghton High School. He also was a graduate of the first Culinary Class from Gogebic Community College.
Mr. Goulette was a veteran having served with the United States Army.
On December 27, 1969, he was united in marriage to the former Kathleen Hauswirth. The couple had resided in Hancock where they raised their family. Mr. Goulette had worked at White Pine Copper Mine. He then Worked at Lazzari’s Market in Hancock before beginning a career in the Food Service Department at Michigan Technological University retiring in 2006.
Wayne enjoyed woodworking projects and spending time with his family and friends.
Preceding him in death were his parents, his brother Joseph and his In-laws.

A memorial service for Wayne will be held 12:00 noon Monday, October 2, 2023, at the Memorial Chapel Funeral Home of Hancock with Rev. Brahm Semmler Smith to officiate. The interment will be in the Gloria Dei Lutheran Church Columbarium.
Friends may call on Monday, October 2, 2023, from 10 am until time of services at the Memorial Chapel Funeral Home of Hancock.
