Two permanent changes are coming to Michigan Tech’s campus. Starting tomorrow Cliff Drive on campus will become limited to 15 miles per hour, and turn into a one-way street. Cliff Drive between, Phoenix drive and where the road meets back with US-41, will convert to one-way traffic flowing west to east. The university has chosen to convert the former two-way road into an eastbound one-way road in order to create new parking. The traffic change will create an additional 70 metered parking spaces, and help reduce congestion in other areas of campus. The university asks that drivers adjusting to the new changes please follow posted traffic signs for speed and pedestrian crosswalks, and use caution while people are exiting their vehicles or attempting to park in the new spaces. Go online to find more information about the traffic change.
