The Houghton County Fair Continues Today, and Through the Weekend

The Houghton County Fair continues today and through the weekend. There are more livestock shows, showing off animals raised by local four H kids. The Midway with fun rides and carnival games will open at 3 pm, after Copper Country Autism Awareness visits the fair. There are plenty for great exhibits to check out today, with plenty highlighting why Houghton County is so great.

The Fair board is also very excited to welcome Dwayne Garmen to the fair. You see him throughout the day as a roving magician.

This year, new too, I forgot to mention. There’s a magic show from a local fella. And he does roaming magic, and magic and magic on the indoor stage inside. Friday Saturday and Sunday he’ll be at the Houghton County Fair.” – Rick Freeman, Sr., Vice President, Houghton County Fair Board

Saturday’s exciting main event will include the loud and rambunctious Midwest monster Trucks putting on a great show for the community.

“We think the youngsters enjoy it they most, and drag everyone else along. But, I think last year, I took a photo of the attendance during the monster truck rally and there had to be 5,000 people there on the grounds.” – Rick Freeman, Sr., Vice President, Houghton County Fair Board

You can find registration forms for each fair day’s main event on Houghtoncountyfair.com. Friday contests include the tractor pull and off road derby. Saturday will have the livestock skill-a-thon and youth talent show. And Sunday will have the new Tuff Truck Derby to close out the Houghton County Fair.
