Obituary: Eric Carlson

UPDATE: A graveside service for Erick Carlson will be held at Lakeview Cemetery in Calumet, Michigan at 1:00 pm on Friday, September 22nd, 2023. A celebration of life will be held on Saturday, September 23rd, 2023, at Bucky’s (Calumet Township Park) from 1:00 – 5:00 pm.

Eric “Igor” Carlson of Hancock, Michigan passed away on August 23rd, 2023, at his home in Hancock, Michigan. Eric was born on May 3rd, 1966, in Laurium, Michigan to Davis and Francis Carlson. 

He graduated from Calumet High School in Calumet, Michigan in 1985. Eric worked as a certified nurses’ aide for most of his life, helping his patients was one of his greatest joys. 

Eric loved being outdoors fishing and swimming. He also loved playing pool. He was at times quite a comedian. He was also a Packer fan but also loved basketball. 

Eric is preceded in death by his parents Davis and Francis Carlson and his aunts and uncles. 

He is survived by his daughter Ava Jean Carlson, son Liam Charles Davis Carlson, sister Debra McCulla (Charlie Peterson), mother of his children Sara Antila and Andrew Yettaw, who took good care of him. He is also survived by many cousins, Aunt Barbra Kausie of Calumet, special friends Krista Carlson and son Randy Thyrion who Eric was always proud of, and John and Donna Watson of Hancock. In addition to many other friends and pool buddies. 

A graveside service for Erick Carlson will be held at Lakeview Cemetery in Calumet, Michigan at 1:00 pm on Friday, September 22nd, 2023. A celebration of life will be held on Saturday, September 23rd, 2023, at Bucky’s (Calumet Township Park) from 1:00 – 5:00 pm.
