Carol A. Adams, 82, resident of Canal View and formerly of Lake Linden, passed away on Friday, August 18th, 2023 at U.P. Health System Portage after a sudden illness.
Carol was born on April 26, 1941 in Lake Linden to the late Rose (Baril) and Henry Piche.
She graduated from Lake Linden – Hubbell High School in 1959 and went on to earn her LPN certification. She worked at St. Joseph’s Hospital in Hancock on the 3rd floor for several years. After Carol quit working at St. Joe’s, she worked as a home healthcare aid. When Carol did home healthcare it did not matter if her patients could pay for it or not. Carol had a lifelong compassion to help anyone in need.
In 1964, Carol married William Adams and they had one daughter, Jean.
Carol was a lifelong Lake Linden resident who loved her family, picking berries, knitting, visiting her neighbors and spending time with her cats.
Carol was preceded in death by her parents, sister Mary and brother Henry. She is survived by her daughter Jean of Plover WI, niece Beth (Evert) Kotowicz of Grand Blanc MI, nephews Jerry (Jen) Tippett of Stanwood WA, Tom (Pauline) Tippett Jr. of Flushing MI, Larry Tippett and his wife Lisa Brownell of Grand Blanc MI, cousin Suzanne Knott of Lake Linden and lifelong best friend, Betty Dairo of Lake Linden.
The family would like to thank Canal View for the excellent care they gave Carol for the past 3 years, and also the staff at Portage Health for their help with end-of-life care.
Per Carol’s request, there will be no visitation. She will be laid to rest at Mt. Calvary Cemetery at a later date. If you would like to honor Carol’s memory, please donate to K-SNAG(Keweenaw Spay Neuter Assistance Group) animal rescue or the Copper Country Humane Society.
