Houghton City Council Recap: Meeting For Downtown Parking Later This Month

Houghton City council will review the ordinance regarding parking in downtown Houghton later this month. There have been small changes to the definitions of certain phrases to clarify them, and to approve a two-hour parking limit on Shelden avenue while also forbidding reparking in the same parking block.

The City received a water related infrastructure grant in 2021 that was over 1.5 million dollars, and will release payment to the hired contractors for the water and sewer system improvements phase 3 and 4 of the project.
