MLB

For the first time since 2012, the National League won the MLB All Star game last night. Rockies catcher Elías Díaz’ two-run homer in the eighth inning was the winning blow, and earned him the game’s Most Valuable Player award. Tigers representative Michael Lorenzen faced three batters in the seventh inning, allowing an infield single, and retiring two. Milwaukee representative Corbin Burnes did not get into the game.

The MLB draft concluded yesterday. Overall, the Tigers took 10 pitchers and 11 position players. Nine of their selections were high school players. The Brewers claimed 12 pitchers and five position players – all infielders.
