Wind Farm Meeting In Adams Township Today

A town hall meeting will be held this evening to discuss a possible wind farm in South Range.

The company Farm Wind wants to build six to ten 500-foot wind turbines in the area.

A local ordinance prohibits the structures from being any closer than 3,000 feet from adjacent property lines, roads or businesses.

The company wants that changed to 500 feet from adjacent property lines and 1,500 feet from homes.

One of the owners of Farm Wind says the company will consider challenging that ordinance in court if a change cannot be made.

The public meeting will be held today in Baltic at the Adams Township Hall.
