The Portage Lake District Library is hosting a summer reading event for students to help them take a break from school and dive into something exciting.
“So our reading program is open-ended, you can track your reading by time, you can track your reading by books. I think that’s really good because different formats have different speeds, so if you’re into graphic novels, like I am, those can sometimes be shorter so maybe you want to go the book route rather than the timed route, but sometimes thinking ‘oh, I want to read x amount of hours this summer’ can be really productive too. And so we want to offer flexibility not only in how you log your reading (either time or books) but also in either a paper format or a digital format with paper reading logs or with our digital program through Readsquared” – Katrina Linde-Moriarte, Director of PLDL
Sign up for the program by going to the library, or attending their Summer Reading Kick-Off Event this Saturday from 11am-1pm.
