There were reports of a high speed chase that took place last night at 8:00.
The chase began in Houghton, where the car changed direction several times before heading over the bridge into Hancock, where he was finally caught.
The police say the driver, a 45 year old white male from Waterloo, South Carolina, was taken into custody and is currently lodged at the Houghton County Jail pending arraignment.
There are no further details released at this time.
Houghton Police were assisted by Houghton County Sheriff’s Department, The Hancock Police Department, and Michigan Tech Public Safety and Police Services.
