Obituary: Bruce Haapapuro

 Bruce Haapapuro, 83, a former local businessman and resident of Portage Township, passed away peacefully at his home with his family by his side on March 2, 2023.

     He was born in Liminga, MI, on March 3, 1939, a son of the late Henry A. and Hilja A. (Hanson) Haapapuro.

     Bruce served his country in the National Guard receiving an Honorable discharge in 1964.

     In May of 1960, Bruce was united in marriage to Carol Perrault at the St. Joseph and St. Patrick’s Church in Hancock, they shared a wonderful life together for 63 years.

     Bruce was preceded in death by his parents, a son Steven, 4 brothers; 3 sisters; 5 brothers-in-law and 2 sisters-in-law.

     Surviving are: his wife Carol; his sons: Brian (Marilyn), Kevin, and Michael; 8 grandchildren: Kevin, Jeff (Teri), Kimberly (Young), Tara, Alex (Taylor), Jacob (Becka), Brittany (Kevin), and Tesa (Kyle); his 12 great-grandchildren: Victoria, Abbigale, Grayson, Elliott, Leila, Charolet, Violet, Payton, Colt, Eloise, Aria, and Liam; His sisters: Evelyn (Byron), June, Karen, and Beatrice (Bill). Numerous nieces, nephews and cousins.

     A memorial service for Bruce will be held 2:00 pm Sunday, June 4, 2023, at Glad Tidings Assembly of God Church in Hancock with Pastor TJ Stauffer to officiate.  Friends may call on Sunday, June 4, 2023, from 1:00 pm until time of services at Glad Tiding Assembly of God Church.
