National teacher appreciation week is recognized this week, and the Copper Country Intermediate School District is not missing out.
James Rautiola wants to extend his sincere thanks to all the faculty.
“I mean it’s a very difficult job that these folks do, and often times it’s a very lonely profession, but these are amazing people bringing their best forward every day to serve students. I just want to acknowledge all of our educators, from the teachers to the [paraprofessionals], to the bus drivers, to the mental health professionals, any of the support and professional staff that make this all work. Education is one of those professions that you can’t [do] alone.” – Superintendent of CCISD, James Rautiola
He explained that it can feel lonely because there is not much adult interaction for the teachers, who only have a 4 or 5 minute break between bells before their next class comes in.
Rautiola says to thank an educator if you see them this week or month for the hard work they do.
