Ahmeek Volunteer Firefighters To Train in Houghton

Ahmeek Village Volunteer Fire & Rescue Department will conduct training for automobile extrication as well as advanced vehicle stabilization.

Several other area fire departments will be participating as well.

The vehicle extrication course is designed to provide firefighters with a better understanding of the current techniques available for the swift extrication of victims from a variety of vehicle entrapments. It includes hands-on training for basic vehicle stabilization and the utilization of hand and power extrication tools.

Ahmeek will also showcase their new rescue truck and all their rescue equipment.

You can spectate at Ed’s Salvage Yard on Pilgrim Road in Houghton.

The training will begin at 9 a.m. and continue until at least 3 p.m. on Sunday.
