Houghton Library Receives Grant for Renovation

The Portage Lake District Library was awarded a $12,200 grant from the Community Impact Fund bestowed by the Keweenaw Area Community Foundation.

The Community Impact Funds community projects that will maintain or improve quality of life in the Keweenaw area.

The library will build public yet confidential meeting spaces that can also be used outside work and school.

The spaces will be in the building, and include one on one meeting space, an 8-person meeting space, and a 16-person meeting space.

The areas will be free, open, and available to community use.

The construction will begin with other library renovation in May.
