The Hancock Public School Board meeting will address the topic of rescinding the dissolution of the hockey co-op between Lake Linden and Hancock High School.
The Hockey co-op was dissolved on March 20, but was put back onto the agenda for the meeting tonight after dissent from the public.
Players of the varsity hockey team spoke in favor of keeping the co-op, saying that it adds competition to the group to push athletes to improve. Coaches and parents also spoke on keeping the co-op.
The co-op was dissolved in a vote of 4 to 2, with Michael Lancour and Rod Paavola voting against the breakdown.
Trustee Heinonen expressed that he was acting in the interest of the Hancock students and families, and giving them a chance at the varsity level team.
