Ina Nordstrom a resident of Hancock, Michigan passed away at the age 102 on April 5, 2023, at Garden View in Calumet, Michigan.
She was born on June 5, 1920 to the late Oscar and Wilhelmina (Tapani) Poyhonen.
On April 3, 1948, she was united in marriage to Oskar Ferdinand Nordstrom. He preceded her in death on December 14, 1998.
Ina was a member of the First Apostolic Lutheran Church in Houghton, Michigan.
Surviving are her children Ann Pietila, Ruth (Russ) Koski, David (Judy) Nordstrom, 31 grandchildren along with their spouses. Also 174 Great-Grandchildren and 8 Great-Great Grandchildren and numerous nieces, and nephews.
Also surviving siblings are her dear sisters, Lillian Kilpela and Ruth Jurmu, and brother Ray (Dorothy) Poyhonen.
Preceding her in death were her parents, son in law Ernest Pietila, Great- grandchildren Mari Kantola and Len Eskola; brother Arthur; sisters Elvie Abramson, Edna Heinonen, Viola Poyhonen, Erma Kilpela, Martha Poyhonen, and Mildred Johnson and half-sister Gotha Linder and half-brother Rudolph Poyhonen.
Funeral services for Ina will be held 3:00 pm Saturday, April 8, 2023, at the First Apostolic Lutheran Church of Houghton with David Taivalkoski to officiate. Spring burial will be in the Lakeside Cemetery of Hancock.
Friends may call on Saturday, April 8, 2023, from 12 noon until time of services at the church.
