Drs. Askari and Masoud from Michigan Tech Receive CAREER Award

Two faculty at Michigan Tech have been awarded the prestigious CAREER Award from the National Science Foundation (NSF). They will join the line of over 50 Michigan Tech faculty that have received the 5-year grant in the past.

Dr. Radwin Askari is a geophysicist with expertise in applied and experimental geophysics. He will receive over $680,000 towards his research lab. Ultimately, his research can aid in the prediction of volcanic eruptions, which will help minimize the consequences of them. 

Dr. Hassan Masoud is an assistant Professor in the Department of Mechanical Engineering-Engineering Mechanics at Michigan Tech, where he leads the Complex Fluids and Active Matter Lab. He will receive over $520,000 to continue his research on aquatic robots that will be able to work alongside each other.
