Joe Hovel Invited to Speak with UPEC Tonight about Conservation and Land Trust Managment

The Upper Peninsula Environmental Coalition plan to hear from Director of Northwood Alliance and Author of From Barbells to Spruce Grouse, Joe Hovel tonight. Hovel will join UPEC during their livestream conservation speaker program. Hovel plans to discuss a variety of conservation topics centered around his experience managing a land trust, and working with agencies such as Forest Service, local government, and ornery visitors. Hovel spent many years as a weight lifter and logger in central Wisconsin, before he began working on conservation efforts in Vilas County and elsewhere. As the Director of the Northwood Alliance, much of his conservation efforts have existed along the Michigan-Wisconsin state boarder. Recently his organization received the Upper Peninsula Environmental Coalition Community Conservation grant for a project in Ontonagon County. The UPEC livestream with forester, ecologoist, and activist, Joe Hovel will begin at 7 pm tonight. Find a link to the Northwood Alliance website, live stream link, and the UPEC facebook page below.
