PHF Giving Tuesday Effort Smashes Old Record

The Portage Health Foundation’s recent Giving Tuesday campaign was the biggest ever – by far.

Donors contributed $659,136.77 to the 26 nonprofits that took part. That’s 48.7 percent higher than the $443,208.76 collected in the 2021 campaign.

The PHF added $200,000 in matching funds, for a total of $859,136.77.

Checks were distributed to the nonprofit partners yesterday. The largest was for $133,539.99, The smallest was for $6,252.46.

PHF Executive Director Kevin Store called the results “remarkable”…

“We’re very grateful to help coordinate it, but it’s really successful because of the work that our partners are doing. That’s the story, and that’s where the important piece of this comes from is the work that they are doing every day to serve and support our community.

Through six years, the Portage Health Foundation’s Giving Tuesday program has raised $2,773,903.51 for nonprofits from Baraga, Houghton, Keweenaw and Ontonagon counties.
