One female driver is in critical condition after a two car crash in Portage Township yesterday. At approximately 7 pm Calumet Post Troopers responded to a two car crash at the intersection of Paradise Road and Broemer Road in Portage Township. Hurontown Fire and Rescue was called to the scene to extract the injured driver of one vehicle with the jaws of life. She was then transported to UPHS – Portage for treatment. MSP reports that the driver remains in critical condition. Names of the victim and passengers in the second vehicle have not been released at this time. Michigan State Police were assisted by Houghton County Sheriff, Hurontown Fire and Rescue, the Houghton Police Department, and Michigan DNR.
