College Basketball
Both Michigan Tech basketball teams compete at Saginaw Valley State tonight.
Both Northern Michigan basketball teams play at Wayne State.
Nordic Skiing
At the U.S. Cross Country Ski National Championships classic sprint competition yesterday, two Michigan Tech skiers earned top-20 finishes. Anabel Needham placed 14th overall in the women’s event, and Adam Witkowski earned an 18th-place finish on the men’s side.
Kristoffer Alm Karsrud from Northern Michigan University won the men’s event. Hailey Swirbul from the APU Nordic Ski Center took the women’s title. Adrik Kraftson from NMU claimed the men’s junior competition, and Emma Charles from the University of New Hampshire won the women’s junior crown.

NBA
The Pistons got off to a quick start, and held off the Warriors 122-119 last night. Saddiq Bey’s three-pointer with less than one second remaining was the game-winning shot. Bojan Bogdanovic scored 29. Jalen Duren added 18 points, and grabbed 11 rebounds.
The Pistons visit the Spurs tomorrow.
NHL
The Red Wings lost 5-1 to the Devils last night. Lucas Raymond prevented the shutout with a power play goal with two minutes remaining in the game. Ville Husso stopped 22 shots, and took the loss.
The Wings host the Panthers tomorrow. Coverage will begin at 6:45 on 99.3 The Lift.
Jakub Vrana remains a Red Wing. The forward cleared waivers yesterday, and will continue his conditioning stint with the Grand Rapids Griffins.
MLB
The Brewers have added two starting pitchers to their roster. They purchased the contract of right-hander Bryse Wilson from the Pirates. He compiled a 5.22 earned run average in 20 starts for Pittsburgh last season, and had been designated for assignment last week. Milwaukee also brought back Wade Miley on a one-year, free agent deal. Miley helped the Brewers reach the National League Championship Series in 2018. He saw limited action with the Cubs last season, while battling injuries.
