Chassell’s fire department rescued a pup after a fall down a cliff yesterday. At about 12:44pm, Chassell Volunteer Fire and Rescue were called to an residence on US-41 for a dog that had fallen over a cliff. Firefighters were able to descend to the dog’s location about 50 feet down the cliff ledge, and about 25 feet above the water. Rescuers then returned the pet to their owner, uninjured. Fire and Rescue teams remind the community that their members are trained to quickly and safely assist people and animals out of dangerous situations. And to always call 9-1-1 for help, instead of risking your own life to an attempted rescue.
