The Michigan Tech volleyball team has introduced seven new recruits.
• Tricia Kennedy is a 6-3 middle blocker, who was twice named all-conference at Cary Grove High School in Trout Valley, Illinois.
• Tess Hayes is a 5-7 setter who led Mother McAuley High School in Chicago to an Illinois state championship.
• Jacqueline Yancy is a 6-1 outside hitter who helped Howards Grove High School in Wisconsin win four state championships.
• Amelia Albers is a 5-5 libero, who earned all-conference honors twice at Stoughton High School in Wisconsin.
• Brynn Erickson is a 5-8 outside hitter and defensive specialist, who was named to her all-conference team three times at Ashland High School in Wisconsin.
• Rachel Zurek is a 6-1 middle blocker who tallied 353 kills in her senior season at Lakeland High School in Oakland County.
• Kate Loch is a 6-0 all-conference outside hitter from South Lyon.
NHL

Detroit will apparently finish the season without Cade Cunningham. There are multiple reports that the second-year guard will undergo surgery to repair the damaged shin that has kept him out since mid-November. He is expected to make a full recovery.

The Brewers have a new catcher. Milwaukee obtained William Contreras from the Braves in a three-team trade yesterday that also involved the Athletics. Milwaukee also received Justin Yeager and Joel Payamps. They sent outfield prospect Esteury Ruiz to Oakland. Contreras was an All-Star for the first time last season.
