Hancock Council to Interview Applicants for Vacant Seat Tonight

The Hancock City Council will hold a special meeting tonight to interview candidates to fill an open seat.

The vacancy was created when Michael Lancour declined to accept his election to the council in November. Lancour had suspended his campaign when he learned that he could not join the council and still keep his position on the Hancock School Board. His name remained on the ballot, though, and he garnered enough votes to win the seat.

Margo Pizzi and Zack Osborn, who finished out of the running in the November election, have both filed for the seat. Mandy Lounibos has also applied.

The applications submitted by the candidates originally posted with this story have been removed at the request of one candidate.

The interview session is the only item on tonight’s agenda. The meeting begins at 6:00 at City Hall.
