At the Portage Lake district Library this week, they plan to host Angela Badke, from the Ojibwa Community Library. Badke works for the Keweenaw Bay Indian Community as a Tribal Librarian. Tribal Libraries do more than provide library services, as they also serve as archivists, heritage centers, language repositories, and as a gateway to cultural sources in native American communities. As a part of Portage Lake’s Kaleidoscope Exploration Thursdays, Badke will share specially picked native authored children’s books to share with attendees. The event will begin at 1 pm this tomorrow.
