Volleyball Wins for Jets, Vikings – Tuesday Sports Wrap

High School

In high school volleyball last night…
• Jeffers swept Ewen-Trout Creek 3-0 (25-15, 25-22, 25-14). Kaeda Rajala led the Jets with 13 kills and Sara Johnson had 8 aces.
• Chassell lost to Ironwood 3-1.
• Baraga defeated L’Anse 3-1 (25-10, 21-25, 25-13, 25-16).

On the volleyball schedule tonight…
• Calumet looks to close out a perfect season at Hancock. Coverage will begin around 6:10 on the Voice of the Copper Kings, KBear 102.3.
• Houghton travels to West Iron County.
• Lake Linden-Hubbell hosts Ironwood.
• Dollar Bay-Tamarack City journeys to Bessemer.
• Baraga plays at Ontonagon.
• Ewen-Trout Creek welcomes Watersmeet.

The schedule is set for local teams in the opening round of the high school football playoffs. All our local teams will play on Friday.

College Volleyball

The Michigan Tech volleyball team hosts Northern Michigan tonight at 6:00 at the SDC.

The Finlandia University volleyball team plays at Bay College.

The Bears stopped the Patriots 33-14 last night.

The Tigers continue to make changes after a disappointing season. Assistant General Manager David Chadd is leaving the team. He had been with Detroit for 20 years. Senior Director of Medical Services Kevin Rand, who had also been with the club for 20 years, is also departing.
