The Northern Collegiate Hockey Association has a new leader. Jim Olson has been named Interim Commissioner of both the Men’s and Women’s Conferences. He takes over for Don Olson, who has retired after five years at the helm. Jim Olson sent the past 15 seasons as the NCHA’s Director of Officials.
MLB
The Tigers lost 8-1 to the Orioles last night. Jordan Lyles tossed a complete-game three-hitter for Baltimore. Kerry Carpenter’s home run provided Detroit’s only score.
The Tigers have today off, and visit the White Sox tomorrow. Eduardo Rodriguez will start against Lucas Giolito. Coverage will begin at 7:50 on KBear 102.3.
The Brewers blanked the Mets 6-0 yesterday. Five Milwaukee pitchers held New York to just four hits. Willy Adames homered, and Mike Brosseau hit a two-out, pinch-hit grand slam in the seventh inning.
The Brewers open a series at Cincinnati tonight. Brandon Woodruff will pitch against Hunter Greene.
Milwaukee trails the Phillies by two-and-a-half games for the final National League Wild Card playoff berth.
