UPDATE: Missing Ontonagon County Man Found Deceased

Update: The missing Ontonagon man was found deceased on Saturday morning. At approximately 11:30 am a member of the volunteer search party discovered the man, Joseph Bittner. His body was found about 1.5 miles from where the search team had found his ATV vehicle. Personnel from the 8th district MSP forensics lab out of Marquette, were called to process the scene. Bittner had been reported missing last Thursday, after family members had not seen him for 24 hours, and failed to return home from a camp in Ontonagon Township. An autopsy has been scheduled, and the investigation into Bittner’s cause of death is ongoing.

The search continues for an Ontonagon Township man who went missing last week.
