The Finlandia University women’s soccer team plays at Northland College tonight.

MLB

Tyler Alexander struggled, as the Tigers fell to the Angels 10-0 last night. Alexander was charged with seven runs before leaving in the fifth inning. Garrett Hill allowed two in the seventh, and infielder Kody Clemens surrendered the final run while pitching the eighth.

The Tigers play at Los Angeles again tonight. Eduardo Rodriguez will start against Mike Mayers. Coverage begins at 9:15 on 99.3 The Lift.

Victor Caratini’s three-run homer powered the Brewers’ 6-4 victory over the Rockies yesterday. Adrian Houser allowed three runs over five innings, and picked up the win.

The Brewers play in Colorado again this evening. Brandon Woodruff will start against Chad Kuhl.

NFL

Quarterback Tim Boyle is back with the Detroit Lions. He’s been signed to the practice squad. Detroit also placed right guard Halapoulivaati Vaitai on injured reserve yesterday with a back problem. He’ll miss at least the first four games of the regular season.

Our high school football coverage continues Friday night. Calumet hosts Westwood – pregame coverage starts at 6:40 on the Voice of the Copper Kings, KBear 102.3. Houghton plays at Iron Mountain – pregame coverage begins at 6:40 on the Voice of the Gremlins, 97.7 The Wolf.
