Baraga County, the Village of L’Anse & L’Anse Township are working with the Western Upper Peninsula Planning and Development Region (WUPPDR) to update each respective five – year recreation plans. Members of the public can have a voice in the planning effort by responding to a short survey. Online responses are preferred. Flyers have been posted in locations around the area with a QR code for easy access to the online survey. Paper copies are available at the Ojibwa Community, L ’Anse public libraries; the village, township, or county office; and the Baraga County Chamber of Commerce; or by contacting WUPPDR. The recreation plans help municipalities guide improvements to the county, village and township’s recreation facilities. WUPPDR will work with each entity to ensure their plan promotes eligibility for certain grants from the Michigan Department of Natural Resources.
