UPSET West Executed a Warrant in Mohawk Last Friday

A one year investigation by the MSP UPSET West team into a Mohawk man concluded late last week. UPSET West executed a warrant on 43 year old Gregory Knuuttila’s home, after a traffic stop was conducted Thursday. During the past year, Knuuttila, had been transporting large quantities of methamphetamine to Houghton, Baraga, and Keweenaw counties from northern Wisconsin. Last Thursday, UPSET West was tipped that Knuuttila, was driving back from Wisconsin, and the MSP Hometown Security Team set out to set up surveillance. Knuuttila was located on US – 45 near Bruce Crossing. Troopers executed a search with the help of their K-9 unit, and found large quantities of meth hidden in the front dash and behind the radio console of the car. On Friday morning the UPSET team conducted a warrant at Knuuttila’s home in Mohawk. Seizing three stolen handguns, drug paraphernalia digital scales, and cell phones in the process. No further information will be released at this time, while UPSET finishes up their investigation.
