Tonight, members of the community are gathering at Bridgeview Park to observe a moment of silence for the 21 victims of the Uvalde, Texas school shooting. The event will start gathering at 5:30 pm, followed with a 20 minute vigil. Demonstrators will then begin to march along the Portage Lake Lift Bridge, starting around 6:15 pm. The event is put on by the Keweenaw Faiths United and International Cities of Peace Houghton/Hancock. Observers are asked to refrain from bringing politically charged posters.
