Houghton is preparing for the cruise lines to start coming in next week. Everyone is exited and a little nervous to see everything go off without a hitch. As the summer progresses, City Manager Eric Waara anticipates the process of getting passengers off the boat and onto shore will go smoother. The first cruise liner will come in from the south entrance around 8:30 am on Wednesday, and anchor near the coast guard post. The liner will then vessel their passenger to Bridge View Park. Trips around the Keweenaw stretch form close to Houghton and throughout the peninsula. All of the excursions are full to capacity with excited visitors. If you are interested in seeing the ship, the best views may be from the Nara Nature Park.
