Farm Markets Continue to Sprout

The list of farm markets in the Copper Country continues to grow.

South Range is the latest municipality to join the club. Their market will be held Tuesdays between 3:00 and 6:00 at the parking lot at the ballfields. It will open May 31st. There is no charge for vendors to take part, but you must register in advance by calling the village office.

The Downtown Houghton Farmer’s Market will also operate on Tuesday, from 4:00 until 7:00, next to the Portage Lake District Library. The first date will be June 14th.

Chassell’s new farm market will be held on Wednesdays between 4:00 and 7:00 at the Chassell Pavilion. It begins June 1st.

Hancock’s Tori and Farmer’s Market will be held on Thursdays from 3:00 until 6:00 at Quincy Green, beginning June 23rd.

Lake Linden’s Farmer’s Market has been moved to Fridays between 4:00 and 7:00 at the Lake Linden Park. It will open for the season July 8th.

Calumet’s Farmer’s Market will take place on Saturdays from 10:00 until 2:00 next to the Calumet Theatre, beginning June 18th.

Plans are also being put together for the farm markets in Baraga County. A vendor meeting has been scheduled for Thursday (May 19th) at 6:00 at Mission United Lutheran Church in Pelkie.
